Finishing the body
We have now arrived at a final stage. The whole body of SBS-02 is nearly ready for assembly …
Day 43: Also on the SBS-02 body pardalanes are glued. After that the transitions on the back between body and neck and head and neck are made fluent yet finished. Sanding the whole body was also an undertaking. First with grid 80, 150, 220 and finally finished with fine 320 and 400.
Day 44 was the whole body treated with pumice stone powder to fill the pores. The powder is to be sprinkled on the body and then rubbed with a tampon with alcohol and a few drops of shellac. The result is already promising …
Day 45 (and following) The body is treated with Danish oil, this is a tung oil that is mixed with other natural oils and resins. Lots of hard labour put in to bring an electrified version of Sitar ..thank you very much sir, and also many many thanks for writing a detailed article, absolutely useful to professional. The looks of this instrument is simply superb. Anxious to know about the ease of actually playing(or handling) and the quality of sound. If these two factors work, I am sure the instrument will be of highest International Standards.
Wouah! Magnifique !
Nu snap ik waarom ik niets van jou hoor. Je bent goed bezig.
